Each year, the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Programme sends two Aotearoa New Zealand teachers to the United States for four months of intensive professional development.

About the scholarship
If successful, you will join 16 to 20 teachers from around the world at one of three host universities. During your stay, you will complete coursework and participate in leadership training and seminars. Grantees experience education in the US schooling system by observing, co-teaching, and exchanging expertise. You will also complete an individual or group project related to your teaching. The scholarship is generously supported with travel and many associated costs covered, including living costs. The Ministry of Education will cover the relief teaching costs for your school or kura while you are away.
