About the development map

The Principal Development Map (PDM) is an interactive tool for aspiring and current principals. It contains professional learning, development opportunities and resources to support your career growth.

What's listed on the PDM?

Professional learning, development opportunities and resources
The PDM is categorised into seven different sections.

  • Principals' Pathway Supports (Ministry-funded supports)
  • Courses & Programmes
  • Leadership Opportunities & Awards
  • Professional Supports
  • Associations & Organisations
  • Resources
  • Events.

In these sections, there are three types of listings.

  • Opportunities from the Ministry of Education and other Ministry-funded education agencies to support your growth on your Principal Pathway
  • Support and PLD opportunities from education agencies and sector groups such as national or regional principal associations
  • Private providers that have been independently reviewed based on quality criteria.

Using the tool

You can access the PDM using the link below. Use the filters to refine your search.

Once you have found something of interest, select the option for further information and a direct link to the provider.

We aim to give you confidence in the offerings on this platform. We also encourage you to do your own research before engaging with any of the provider's services.
